Academic Support
The Academic Support Center is home to three
different programs that offer academic help to UWMC students in their classes:
drop-in math tutoring, peer tutoring in other subjects, and the TRIO program.
Drop-in Math Tutoring:
Students who need help with their math class are welcome to work with our math
tutors free of charge. Math tutors are available every week day on a drop-in
basis to help students with their math homework. In addition,
end-of-the-semester math review sessions to help students prepare for final
exams are also offered free of charge through the Academic Support Center.
Peer Tutoring in other subjects:
If a student needs tutoring in a class other than math, Academic Support Center
staff will arrange individual peer tutoring for a minimal charge of $1 per hour.
TRIO
Program:
The Academic Support Center is home to the TRIO program, a federally funded
program that provides math, writing, advising and study skills support to a
community of eligible students.
The Academic Support Center, located in room 176,
is the best place to be to ensure the best start for your courses!
