SA Child Care Subsidy Application Information
Who is Eligible?
Applicants must
be current students enrolled in three or more credits.
Applicants must be Parents or Legal Guardians of children using certified
and/or licensed childcare, and must show a financial need.
Applicant must have made payment to childcare provider during the time period
concurrent with the term for which the applicant is requesting assistance.
Completed applications, along with childcare receipts, (in the amount equal to
the award eligible for), must be submitted to the Student Services Office by the
end of each semester.
Several factors will be considered by the committee in determining awards,
such as total funds available for distribution, financial need, and total
childcare costs.
What are the Subsidy Terms?
Applicants who
complete 12+ credits during any term are eligible for $200 for that term.
Applicants who complete 9-11 credits during any term are eligible for $150 for
that term.
Applicants who complete 6-8 credits during any term are eligible for $100 for
that term.
Applicants who complete 3-5 credits during any term are eligible for $50 for
that term.
The awards are made on a term-by-term basis and will be paid in one payment
four to six weeks after the term for which they have applied.
Applicants will be required to submit receipts from certified/licensed child
care providers in the amount of the funds being requested before receiving any
funds.
Students will be given award money only for credits completed for the term in
which they have applied.
How Do I Apply?
Students may
pick up applications at Student Services.
Completed applications, along with childcare receipts, (in the amount equal to
the award eligible for), should then be submitted to the Student Services Office
by the end of each semester.
The Child Care Assistance Coordinators will verify eligibility of applicants
once all applications are received.
Names of award recipients and corresponding award amounts will then be
submitted to the UWMC business office.
The business office will then have checks prepared and sent to the award
recipients address within two to four weeks.
