Enrolling in Courses Using PRISM

1. Obtain your password. For help with passwords, click here.

2. Log in to PRISM. (Make sure you log on using all CAPS)

3. Click the sequence as follows: SA Self Service > Learner Services > Enrollment > Enroll in or drop a campus class (for enrollment in online courses this will be Enroll in or drop an online course)

4. Select the term that you wish to enroll.

5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click add classes.

6. Check the course schedule for the 4-digit PRISM number and place this number in the box. Do this for each class that you plan to register.

7. Hit the yellow submit button.

8. Check message area. If it says - Success - you are enrolled in the class. If there is a red error message click on the error message to determine what the problem is. Any number of things can occur. There can be a time conflict, a prerequisite error, (meaning there is a class that you need to take before you are eligible to enroll in the class that you have selected); an error indicating that you have not yet paid your advance tuition deposit or the class is full. Please contact someone in Student Services to assist with an error message that you do not understand or that you feel is placed incorrectly.

Helpful Hints

1. The class you want is full and you want to see what courses are still open. In the add classes area, rather than placing a 4-digit PRISM number in the registration boxes, leave the box blank and click on the magnifying glass. This will bring up a search screen where you can search for courses either by department, (SOC for sociology for example) or by class.

2. You don’t trust computers and you want to make double sure that you are registered. Check the unofficial transcript portion of PRISM. The route you will take is as follows: SA Self Service > Learner Services > Enrollment > View Unofficial transcript. Hit Go. This is also a good place to check your grades at the end of the semester.

3. You would like to view your weekly schedule within a time schedule grid. Use the following route for weekly printout: SA Self Service > Learner Services > Enrollment > View My Weekly Schedule. Change the date to the period of time that you would like to review and hit “GO”

4. You would like to drop a class. This is the same route for adding classes. Select enroll or drop a campus class, select the term, select drop/update classes. Select the classes that you wish to drop, hit Submit and you are dropped. To ensure this is done successfully you can view this on you unofficial transcript. Courses dropped after the 10th day of the semester will have a “W” assigned on your transcript.

5. You would like to look through all of the great things that PRISM can do for you as a student. Go to the Student Tutorial section where you go to log on to your coursework. For questions, please contact Student Services.
