72 classes ranging from art to chemistry to living history to foreign languages are available in each year's College for Kids program. 

GRADE ALIGNMENT IN 2008:  Grades K-1, 2 - 3 & 4 - 7

Classes run from 8:15 to 10:00 a.m. and 10:15 to 12:00 p.m. There are both one-week and two-week classes which can be mixed to fit a child's interests and schedule.

The tuition for a one-week class is $30, and for a two-week class it is $60.  Each course has a variable materials fee in addition to the tuition.

For students new to the program, the child's current school teachers' signature is required attesting to the child's grade status and readiness for the program. This program is not limited to children identified as "gifted and talented", but is meant as enrichment for any child with the age- appropriate social and educational skills.

Scholarships have been generously provided by local foundations, businesses and individuals. The guidelines for free and reduced school lunches are used as a basis for determining eligibility. However, extenuating circumstances such as large medical bills and job layoffs are also considered.

Brochures with registration forms will be available in local elementary and middle schools by the end of March. They can also be found at the Marathon County Public Library and the UWMC Office of Continuing  Education. Phone registrations are not accepted. The random drawing for class placement will be held at the end of the work day on Friday, April 25, 2008.   After that, registrations are taken on a space available basis.
